BATTLES, formed in 2002, is WARP's new signing from New York - TYONDAI BRAXTON on vocals, keyboardist, guitar and electronics. Tyondai is an avant-garde solo musician who's previously collaborated with PREFUSE 73. He's joined by JOHN STANIER on drums, ex HELMET and member of MIKE PATTON's TOMAHAWK, IAN WILLIAMS on guitar and keyboard, ex-DON CABALLERO and DAVE KONOPKA on guitar & bass, previously in LYNX. Battles can be described as many things: post-rock, math-rock, avant-rock, drone-rock, jazz-rock, krautrock, ambient, psychedelic rock one's things for sure...they f*#cking rock!!!
