Forever So is a rich and layered collection of modern folk songs, recorded in a rustic Northcote bungalow and mixed in Los Angeles at House of Blues Studios with Noah Georgeson (Joanna Newsom, Devendra Banhart, the Strokes).Lead singer and guitarist Husky Gawenda and cousin Gideon Preiss, (keyboards, vocals), pulled together all the old recording gear they could get their hands on and set up for the summer in Gawenda's house. Spending the long days and warm nights arranging and piecing together a collection of songs written by Gawenda, they refused to settle for anything but the most spirited performances and tirelessly searched for the right piano line or sweetest harmony. This would become Husky's definitive opus, Forever So.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Love, love, love it. Miss music on 18.11.2011 Not a review so much as me just raving about what a fantastic album this is. It moved into my head a few weeks ago and has just been circling ever since. It's there the moment I wake up, little brilliant pieces of sound replaying over and over. This is gentle, beautiful, mesmerizing, breathtaking, honest, unbelievably wonderful stuff. Did I mention beautiful? You can tell that it has been so painstakingly put together, so much attention to detail; and the result is pretty much perfection. Kudos to Triple J for giving Husky a start. I don't think they'll need too much more assistance! |
