Santa Barbara five-piece Gardens & Villa are set to release their debut self-titled LP. Recorded and produced in Cottage Grove, Oregon in the summer of 2010 with the aid of visionary producer and labelmate Richard Swift, the band have ditched their previous pop-punk persona in favour of a more ethereal, synth-laden sound. On 'Gardens & Villa', the coastal quintet channel the new wave sensibilities of Gary Numan and the taut pop precisions of 90's Brit Pop pioneers Blur, amalgamating the two with a languid, inherently Californian feel.
