Nick Cave sits at the piano, a group of cherubic children surround him .... Just from the cover shot alone, we know that Cave is in a strangely romantic mood. But, as usual where Cave is concerned, The Good Son is not about romance as it's ordinarily perceived. Along with the brilliant title track, the foreboding The Weeping Song is another great moment amongst many. This 1990 album, however, is probably best remembered for the mournful beauty of The Ship Song.
