From First to Last head into 2006 with freight-train momentum, closing out 2005 with a sold-out national tour, extensive video play, and sales of their previous album, Dear Diary My Teen Angst Has A Body Count, topping 120,000. Now comes Heroine, tagged by Alternative Press and just about everyone else as one of the most anticipated albums of the new year. Like Taking Back Sunday, Underoath, and Hawthorne Heights before them, FFTL have stepped up and produced an album that will bring their huge fanbase out on streetdate, and win a whole new body of fans over with its epic, explosive vision. Produced by Ross Robinson and mixed by Andy Wallace (the last time they worked together was on At the Drive-In's seminal Relationship of Command) Heroine showcases a band evolving, reaching past their post hardcore roots and into metal, industrial, and emo with the most creative and genre-busting material the band has ever recorded.

CEREMONY are a punk band from Rohnert Park, California, just outside of San Francisco. Their three albums on the Deathwish and Bridge 9 labels are widely seen as the most compelling, unusual and progressive hardcore of the last five years and have garnered comparisons to THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, JOY DIVISION and SUICIDAL TENDENCIES. For their Matador debut 'Zoo', produced by John Goodmanson (BLOOD BROTHERS, SLEATER-KINNEY, GIRLS, WEEZER), the band have refined their jagged sound while continuing to pursue themes of exurban alienation and confinement. 'Zoo' explores punk and post-punk traditions: the rhythm section remains as tense and propulsive as ever, while guitarist Anthony Anzaldo moves with ease from ringing power chords to stealthy leads reminiscent of GANG OF FOUR and THE CRAMPS. Ross Farrar's future primitive vocals sometimes recall Wire's PINK FLAG or PIL's METAL BOX, ranging from a melodic howl to a muttered incantation.

"Helplessness Blues" was recorded over the course of a year at Avast Recording, Bear Creek Studios, Dreamland Studios, and Reciprocal Recording. The album was mixed by Phil Ek and co-produced by Fleet Foxes and Ek.
