James Yorkston returns with the follow up to his highly-acclaimed debut Moving Up Country, an album which received acclaim from everyone from the monthlies to the dance press in the UK and was Rough Trade's 2002 Album of the Year. Just Beyond The River is a bold record. James' subtle skills as a songwriter really come to the surface and have led him to be called the "new Nick Drake" (The Times). Production duties on the record were handled by Kieran Hebden (Four Tet) bringing out an intimate, live sound which bristles with restrained power.
