'Klamath' is Mark Eitzel's first proper solo album of new original material since 2001's 'Invisible Man' (released on Matador). Eitzel produced the album, which was written and recorded in a log cabin in the middle of the woods - by the Klamath river, California. Featuring guests Franz Nicolay (The Hold Steady), Marc Capelle (American Music Club) and Dave Douglas (Kelley Stoltz's drummer). The pastoral, laid back, late night sparse feel to the album harkens back to Eitzel's folk influences of Nick Drake and John Martyn and earlier work with AMC, and captures the stillness and vicious beauty of the untouched forest that inspired it.
