When Saints Go Machine are a hot new Danish four-piece. After the release of their acclaimed Fail Forever EP in January, !K7 present their debut - a vibrant mix of house and pop, infused, wonderfully, with a spiritual glow and a dark clubland soul. It went straight to #1 on itunes in Denmark. Two years in the making, Konkylie sees them evolve their sound into uncharted territory. Nikolaj Manuel Vonsild's spectral vocals - a mix of Arthur Russell's yearning, Antony Heggarty's tremulous falsetto and Talk Talk's Mark Hollis - are pitched against a shimmering mirage of synths and beats. There's an echo of their clubland past on Kelly, which is underpinned by a chugging rhythm. Its the jumping off point for four-minutes of electro pop perfection, like Empire Of The Sun with added Scandinavian cool. Nikolajs' vocals, meanwhile, are never more beautiful than on the closer, floating over skillfully orchestrated strings and gentle electronics
