This is the second full-length album from Barn Owl for Thrill Jockey, and what a wondrous item it is. A duo who mine the fields of doom, space rock, Spaghetti Western drone and more, their music rises way above the pack of what may appear to be an overcrowded genre. Produced by Trans Am's Phil Manley, it also encompasses elements of I ndian ragas, deep blues and African tribal sounds, stretching out into new directions and creating a new whole.
