Gotye is the music-making mantle of Wally De Backer, songwriter, producer and all-round one-man band. A few years ago he created an album that became something of an underground classic. That record, Like Drawing Blood, was voted Triple J listeners' favourite album of 2006, and iTunes UK's Album Of The Year in 2008. In 2007 Gotye won the ARIA Award as Australia's Best Male Artist and his audiovisually ambitious tour with a mini orchestra attracted huge crowds and critical raves. Somebody That I Used To Know is the new single from ARIA Award-winning songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Gotye. Featuring vocals from lauded newcomer Kimbra, it's the second small taste of Gotye's album, Making Mirrors, the highly anticipated followup to his platinum-selling classic, Like Drawing Blood. Earlier this year, the first single Eyes Wide Open came in at #25 in Triple J's Hottest 100 only weeks after its release.
