LA born and based, ARIEL PINK has been making music since the age of 10, playing and producing most of his music himself. Along the way, Pink's music was heard by ANIMAL COLLECTIVE, and after being introduced by a mutual friend, he started recording on the band's label, Paw Tracks.
In November 2009, Ariel Pink was signed to 4AD records. Pink has built himself attention and a fanbase around the globe with his 'Haunted Graffiti' series. The band have toured with CHAIRLIFT, CRYPTACIZE and VIVIAN GIRLS, which led to playing COACHELLA and ALL TOMORROW'S PARTIES, which was curated by Animal Collective themselves.
'Mature Themes' is Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti second record for 4AD, and the follow up to 2010's hugely successful 'Before Today'. Installing themselves in a studio space in downtown-LA, the band began a lengthy process of writing and recording. Self produced, but far removed from Ariel's early bedroom recordings, 'Mature Themes' reflects a more collaborative process with the often-overlooked virtuoso musicianship of the band bought to the fore. While the creative process was new, familiar Ariel Pink signatures remain. New single "Only In My Dreams" is the Los Angeles act's most dazzling and melodic pop song thus far, recalling the upbeat sounds of THE KINKS and vocal harmonics of 10CC, and offering a very different side to the band that brought the world "Round and Round".
