Beautiful pop music like they used to make back in the glory days of Flying Nun - think JPS, think Able Tasmans, better still think a head cold and doped up on too many drugs... Experimental pop perfection is what they're aiming for and they're getting closer and closer to the mark - in fact the first single "The Lost You" is as good as it gets to these ears - one of those BIG sounding songs that leave you breathless after the first listen ("something is happening here but you don't know what it is..."). Scattered amongst the musical debris that surrounds it, it sounds magical. Hood may make the kind of music that Sigur Ros have stolen and run with to the masses - the sound of a band permanently on the verge of something big, but they've got something that most others don't: a LOVE of sound - you can hear it through everything they do. Don't just think of this as a destination: this is a long long trip that never ends.
