For nearly 10 years, Kris Schroeder has been under the thumb of perpetual genius-cum-overachiever Wally De Backer (Gotye), and the capricious guitar-slinger, Tim Heath. Emerging from under said thumb - known to the discerning listening public as "The Basics" - comes a damaged and deluded songwriter learning to stand on his own two stumps by releasing his first EP "Patience in the Face of Control". A gloriously overstated record full of notes and trebellious clefs, and featuring a range of musicians including the afore-mentioned De Backer and Heath combo.
