The Icarus Line are a band that are proactive about their careers. They've been described as snotty, opinionated, vocal, loud and obnoxious. But what more could you ask for from a rock n' roll band? The key to the bands success to date is attributed to three main factors. First, they have toured their asses off for the last four years, going on the road with such bands as Queens of the Stoneage, A Perfect Circle, ...Trail of the Dead, Primal Scream, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and have just finished a tour with the Distillers. They have also headlined their own tours across the globe, building a huge fanbase overseas. They have played countless festivals such as Reading, Leeds, Summersonic, and Pukkelpop. Second, Aaron North, guitar player for The Icarus Line, is co-owner of the most infamous punk rock website there is on the net, Buddyhead. Buddyhead is a forum for kids and bands to speak their minds free from big business compromise and manipulation. Anything and everything goes here. Finally they are f--king punk. You've heard the story about Austin, Texas. They did break the guitar case and pull out Stevie Ray Vaughn's guitar. They acquired national press because of this. It was the equivalent of pissing on the Alamo, but it was done because they realized the guitar was such a piece of shit, that Stevie would have never played it anyway. There was such an uproar over this incident, that the next time The Icarus Line played SXSW they were forced to take bodyguards with them to protect themselves due to death threats
