Forming in the suburbs of Perth early in 2000, The Sleepy Jackson quickly made a name for themselves through exceptional songwriting, unique lyrical content and an incredible live experience. The accolades weren't just confined to Australia and word quickly spread via the global music press (NME, Mojo, Q) pointing to the genius song writing of Luke Steele.some dubbing him 'The Wizard Of Oz.' The band toured locally (including Homebake, Splendour and Big Day Out performances) and internationally (Reading and Coachella festivals). The Lovers project culminated with 5 ARIA Award nominations including the coveted Album Of The Yearnomination and a performance on the live telecast. The excitement surrounding that release was not just homegrown, London's influential Radio 1 has played first single 'God Lead Your Soul' seven weeks upfront of the single release and DJ Zane Lowe has named it "Hottest Record In The World". Radio 1 was not alone in the buzz surrounding the release, with XFM also adding the track, Music Week listing the track as a New Addition and anticipated coverage in NME, Q and Mojo.
