Memory Tapes - Player Piano (2 Bonus Tracks) Like its predecessor, 'Player Piano' was recorded at Hawke's home studio in rural New Jersey, and largely eschewing modern beats in favour of drums that sound like The Kinks' 60s records, 'Player Piano' incorporates modern R'n'B, 50s doo wop and krautrock influences, with nods to Aphex Twin throughout.

Known for the success of his debut album 'Seek Magic' and his production skills reworking artists including Crystal Castles, Gucci Mane and Britney Spears, Dayve Hawke returns to solo-work under the MEMORY TAPES moniker with a unique collection of melody-heavy songs. Like its predecessor, 'Player Piano' was recorded at Hawke's home studio in rural New Jersey, and largely eschewing modern beats in favour of drums that sound like The Kinks' 60s records, 'Player Piano' incorporates modern R'n'B, 50s doo wop and krautrock influences, with nods to Aphex Twin throughout.

Megafaun members' first band, DeYarmond Edison, featured neighbourhood friend, Bon Iver's Justin Vernon, and the group released two gently introspective folk albums before splitting in 2006. Reforming as Megafaun without Vernon, they released cult-favorite Bury the Square. Two further freak-folk records, and tour slots with the Mountain Goats and Akron/Family, followed.

Gung Ho's infancy was raw but infectious – the combination of Oliver's retro bass lines with Mike's hook laden guitar riffs made for a unique environment for the lead vocals to rhyme and scream through. After Michael weaved his melodic backing vocals through the choruses they knew that they had an eclectic formula they could derive a set from. The duo's catchy collage jams soon caught the interest of their peers, with members of Dune Rats, Millions and Last Dinosaurs filling-in on percussion duties from time-to-time to help form a three-piece for early club shows in Brisbane.
