Known for the success of his debut album 'Seek Magic' and his production skills reworking artists including Crystal Castles, Gucci Mane and Britney Spears, Dayve Hawke returns to solo-work under the MEMORY TAPES moniker with a unique collection of melody-heavy songs. Like its predecessor, 'Player Piano' was recorded at Hawke's home studio in rural New Jersey, and largely eschewing modern beats in favour of drums that sound like The Kinks' 60s records, 'Player Piano' incorporates modern R'n'B, 50s doo wop and krautrock influences, with nods to Aphex Twin throughout.
