In KARATE's decade of performing and recording they have refined their sound to a streamlined rock hybrid while forging a unique sonic identity all their own. 'Pockets' is the seventh album for these avant indie rock/mod jazz masters and follows on from 2002's acclaimed 'Some Boots' album. This album continues the project of lacing shrewd rock songwriting with unconventionalsoulful rhythms that the band introduced with 'Unsolved'. This time around the songs are more concise and the tempos quicker, but 'Pockets' also has its contemplative moments.
