Rattlehand are the definition of alt country. Soulful narrative is the motivation behind Rattlehands music, influenced by Ryan Adams, Wilco, Hank Williams, The Old 97's and Johnny Cash. Their alt-country/ rock feel pays homage to the 'outlaw country' genre of the 60's and 70's: it is a sound that happily deviates from the dominant paradigm. In love with all things Americana, Rattlehand serve up bluegrass feels and country twang on a platter of guitars, bringing rock to the bayou. This lively 6 piece have been making quite a name for themselves over the last 12 months, with over 500 copies of their debut EP sold, airplay on JJJ, 612ABC, RRR, PBS, 4ZZZ, 98.9fm and successful live shows with national and international alt-country legends such as Justin Townes Earle, Wagons and Lachlan Bryan as well as festival slots at Tamworth Jamboree and Apollo Bay Music Festival. A blend of seasoned and classically trained musicians, Rattlehand are a delicious mixed bag of local talent boasting members from such indie stalwarts as The Black Arts, Grassroots Street Orchestra, Fat Man's Cleavage and Say Nothing.
