It is not because Kate Cooper is the size of a jockey or because a goat once kicked Damon Cox that An Horse bears its name. There's no sense in that. A friend once gave Kate a sweater with An Horse written on it, because he thought it was grammatically correct. Brought to the attention of the indie pop world by Tegan and Sara, An Horse hails from Brisbane. Having made a favourable impression on the Canadian indie duo, Kate and Damon soon found themselves sharing a bill with Tegan and Sara on their 2008 American tour and their 2009 Australian tour (where they also toured with Death Cab For Cutie). 2009 would also see the oddly titled group release a critically acclaimed LP, 'Rearrange Beds'. Coupled with the touring slot for an already hot act, An Horse soon caught fire, and their popularity in the US (where they last toured with Silversun Pickups) has been going through the roof, including rave reviews from the likes of Pitchfork, Stereogum, Rolling Stone and Spin magazines, as well as an appearance on the coveted Late Show with David Letterman. Australian re-release of 'Rearrange Beds' with a bonus remix EP, featuring original album tracks remixed by the likes of TV On The Radio, Phenomenal Hand Clap Band, Bodega Girls, RAC Collective and Ross from Tally Hall.
