Having recently reissued their self-titled debut, this is Movietone's fourth album and their first new material since 2000's critically lauded 'The Blossom Filled Streets'.'The Sand and The Stars' is intended to sound like "a jazz record being played from across the bay".Recorded in a variety of locations chosen to suit the songs, including a warehouse, achurch and on a cliff path near a gorge where the seagulls swooped and cried (apparently).
