On their eighth studio album The Silent Surf, All India Radio writer/producer Martin Kennedy embraces a lofi aesthetic and sparse instrumentation and the result is like the soundtrack to a beautiful and strange film. Present are the familiar scratchy atmospheres, dreamy beats and tremolo guitars, evoking images of cosmonauts, lost 1970s surf movies and lone gunmen straight out of an Ennio Morricone dream.
