Horrors, The - Skying The beauty of The Horrors is that every album sees the band slightly shape-shift their sound, whilst managing to still sound like no one else but The Horrors. Their debut album was decidedly goth-like; Primary Colours, their first for XL, added adventures in krautrock and more, and now their latest album Skying finds them breaking even more new ground.

The beauty of The Horrors is that every album sees the band slightly shape-shift their sound, whilst managing to still sound like no one else but The Horrors. Their debut album was decidedly goth-like; Primary Colours, their first for XL, added adventures in krautrock and more, and now their latest album Skying finds them breaking even more new ground. It's definitely The Horrors, check those distinctively warm synth washes and the ominous bass lines, but there's also a new lightness of touch and a hint of romanticism. Comparisons to the likes of Psychedelic Furs, The Cure and Echo and the Bunnymen are flowing thick and fast.

Gonzo synth maestros The Knife return after seven years since their last album, 'Silent Shout'. Their new album is a mighty 98 minutes long epic journey into the heart of darkness. Songs range from 37 seconds to 19 minutes, all is good in the hood.
