The Perth punk rock band known as The Victims only existed from the years 1977 to 1979, but they made an unholy noise which still rattles 35 years later. They released two 7"s (the classic'Television Addict', as covered by You Am I and The Hellacopters); and the No Thanks To The Human Turd EP in editions of 1,000 and 500, respectively. Original copies of either will net you a cool $1500.00 or more. The Victims featured none other than Dave Faulkner of the Hoodoo Gurus on guitar/vocals and James Baker of the Scientists/Gurus/Beast of Bourbon on drums. Most of material hasn't been available legally for over 20 years. The music of the Victims is a brilliant mixture of snotty and sarcastic humour mixed with lightning-paced punk rock which sounds like the Stooges duking it out with the Germs. This beautifully-packaged Japanese CD puts together all their recordings from the period (including 9 previously unreleased demos), as well as flyers, liner notes, lyrics, etc.
