Arctic Monkeys release their highly anticipated fourth album 'Suck It And See'. Recorded at the legendary Sound City Studios in Los Angeles with long-time producer/ collaborator James Ford, the album has a summery pop feel: with the bulk of work completed on the West Coast during January, it's got the feel-good sound of stealing some winter sun, some out of season Vitamin D. Arctic Monkeys are Jamie Cook, Matt Helders, Nick O'Malley and Alex Turner. "Suck It and See" contains twelve songs, including a reworking of "Piledriver Waltz" from the Turner written soundtrack to Richard Ayoade's film "Submarine" (also released on Domino). This is the Arctic Monkeys with their mojo back!

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Forever Changes Jack Madgwick-Staveley on 03.06.2011 As a fan of AM's ever since they exploded onto my TV set in winter (UK) of 2005/6, I have liked all their work. Humbug took sometime but was rewarding enough. If you liked Humbug you'll like this, but if you are a casual fan that liked 'Whatever People Say..' and 'Favourite Worst Nightmare' they may just sneak this new album into your collection. The band have claimed that it incorporates a bit of all three albums and it really does, there is the light and airy guitars that featured throughout their 1st two and their is the lyrical depth that Turner picked up whilst doing 'Shadow Puppets' and kept through their last offering. This truly is a delightful album that is unfortunetly coming out at the wrong time down under as it makes for perfect summer/festival listening. For $20 it's worth the gamble even if you only like the Monkeys past singles, this will please any fan of Pop or Rock music. There is a little bit for everyone! |
