Chicago based folk-rock band Fruit Bats are headed by lead man Eric D. Johnson, who has continued the project over the past ten year, whilst filling sideman duties for bands including Califone, Vetiver and The Shins. 'Tripper', the fifth Fruit Bats full-length, was recorded at WACS Studio in Los Angeles with Thom Monahan, best known as producer for the last four Vetiver albums, the Pernice Brothers and Devendra Banhart's album 'Cripple Crow'. Johnson knew that he wanted 'Tripper' to be more of a solitary pursuit than his previous album, and so for the remaining four weeks of recording, he worked with Monahan to deepen and refine the sound.

Vanity Is Forever is Crayon Fields frontman Geoffrey O'Connor's first album under his own name, and his most ambitious, dynamic and sophisticated work yet. O'Connor's fractured romantic reflections and lustful tributes play out over vast synthscapes, colossal stadium drums and flanged orchestral sweeps, creating a world that is at once ethereal and strikingly vivid.
