NINA NASTASIA & JIM WHITE - Nina's STEVE ALBINI recorded follow up to the acclaimed 'On Leaving', much anticipated collaboration with DIRTY THREE's Jim White (the first collaboration that has ever had his name on the record), fitting in nicely with the Dirty Three curated ATP. 'You Follow Me' is stripped back yet further to just a two-piece (drums, guitar, vocal), making this a fantastically focused record - a taut, raw document of two incredible musicians in deep dialogue, exploring the boundaries of song form to find a rare and striking complement. 'You Follow Me' is once again a vehicle for Nina's rare gift of a voice, and her concise, hook laden songwriting, surrounding themes of love, longing and loss, childhood, dreams and human dramas. Augmented by peerless drummer JIM WHITE (DIRTY THREE), it is nevertheless a very different record, and onethat documents two musicians at the height of their powers, somewhere between a duel and a dance. With Nina's extraordinary voice able to swoop and turn on a dime, to shift from a langorous, breathy trail to beautifully emotive peals or a bloodied howl, Jim's highly inventive playing is simultaneously loose and lithe, intensely tight, testing and marking out the spaces around things. Jim White has become a guest musician of choice for acts such as WILL OLDHAM, BONNIE PRINCE BILLY, SMOG and NICK CAVE, to mention but a few. Nina and Jim will be playing highly anticipated, selective dates in support of the album here at home later in the year after the DIRTY THREE curated All Tomorrows Parties Festival (UK) and Nina's own headline spot on the Homefires Festival Tour in June.
