Young Team was originally released in 1997. It was engineered and produced by Paul Savage of The Delgados. Says Paul "To work with Mogwai at this time was exciting: a young, fearless band, having the time of their lives - making wondrous music that reminded people about what it was like to go to a concert and feel the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end.". The final track Mogwai Fear Satan single-handedly introduced a generation of young record buyers to instrumental guitar music. The band's average age was 18.
