While Wilhelm Kempff is best known as a Deutsche Grammophon artist, many of his earliest recordings were made for Decca in the 1950s. Much of the material has never been issued on CD. This is a very rare 1950 recording of Schubert's B flat sonata, as well as a host of Baroque encores as well as two Beethoven Bagatelle, including the ubiquitous "F r Elise" in one of its most definite recorded performances.
