Originally released in 1973, More Creedence Gold is a collection of songs from 1968 to 1972. The songs are a mixture of country, rock and blues musical styles. Although John Fogerty's vocals sound like the band is from the deep, south-eastern US, they are surprisingly, from Berkeley, California. Fortunate Son is a protest song which marks this collection as a relic from the San Francisco scene in the sixties. I Put A Spell On You (Screamin' Jay Hawkins), and Good Golly Miss Molly (Little Richard Penniman) are performed with forceful enthusiasm. Lookin' Out My Backdoor, Don't Look Now and Lodi have a good country-western feel about them, and a strong beat which is easy to dance to. Sweet Hitch-Hiker and Run Through The Jungle ride at a break neck speed. This is a fun collection of songs from an extremely prolific and talented John Fogerty whilst in his days with Creedence Clearwater Revival.
