Hippolyte et Aricie (1733) was Rameau's earliest surviving opera, a tale of Phaedra's incestuous love for her stepson, Hippolyte. Marc Minkowski's recording - now on this specially priced 3-CD set - is well cast, with Bernarda Fink an "outstandingly impressive Phaedra" (Gramophone).
