Since the late '50s, Burt Bacharach has been one of pop music's premier songwriter/producer/arrangers. Though perhaps best known for his many collaborations with lyricist Hal David on more classic Dionne Warwick records than we have space to mention, he also worked his hitmaking magic for the likes of The Drifters, Chuck Jackson, The Shirelles, Gene Pitney, Jerry Butler, Dusty Springfield, Jackie DeShannon, Tom Jones, The Carpenters, The 5th Dimension, The Stylistics, Christopher Cross, and a host of others.
