I Started Out With Nothin'... is the follow-up album to his surprise-hit album Dog House Music that he recorded in his kitchen and released in 2006 on the Bronzerat label. Seasick Steve has played in Lightnin' Hopkins' and John Lee Hooker's bands, as well as also playing in Modest Mouse's touring line-up. His first album, Cheap, was released in 2004. Steve subsequently survived a heart attack but recovered to breakthrough with a memorable performance at Jools Holland's Hootennanny New Year's Eve celebration.
