With 170 years of living the blues between them, (Pinetop is 97, Willie is 74) these two legends have produced an amazingly energetic, and authentic blues album. Backed by a rock-solid band including guitar work from John Primer and "Little Frank" Krakowski, the bass of Bob Stroger and drumming of Kenny Smith (Willie's son). Perkins, perhaps the last direct link to the 1930s Delta blues era world of Robert Johnson and Honeyboy Edwards, lays down dynamite piano and vocals, while Smith handles most of the singing plus harmonica. This duo spent many years together as the pianist and drummer in Muddy Waters' band, and the connection shows in a powerful and gritty blues document.
