Linda had already been a member of LA folk-rock group the Stone Poneys ('Different Drum') and recorded two solo albums when in 1971 she linked up with Don Henley, Glenn Frey, Bernie Leadon and Randy Meisner (soon to become the Eagles) to record Linda Ronstadt. It was a significant release in the early growth of the Californian country rock movement.
