Known as The Silver Fox, Rich was one the great Country stars of the 1960s and 1970s, becoming best known for his string of lush, Billy Sherrill-produced countrypolitan hits of the mid-70s. Not only was he one of the best selling artists in modern Country (with nine #1 hits), but also he scored a #1 cross-over hit on the Billboard Pop chart as well. Throughout his career Rich has been able to blend country, jazz, blues, gospel, rockabilly and soul into a winning formula. Starting with his first rockabilly hit Lonely Weekends', produced in 1960 by Sam C. Phillips, this collection proceeds through his foot-stomping 1963 hit on Groove Big Boss Man', his 1965 Top 40 Pop hit on Smash Mohair Sam' and on to his amazing run of #1s during the 1970s on Epic.
