Limited edition 2 CD digipak, on release, featuring a special live 4 track Acoustic EP recorded live at The Troubadour in Brisbane
It’s been a hell of a ride since The Audreys first took their trademark alt-country/roots sound out of the studio and onto stages in 2006. Their first two albums “Between Last Night and Us” and “When The Flood Comes” both took out the ARIA for Best Blues & Roots Album giving them a strike rate the envy of many a musician.
Rave album and live reviews and shows in the US, Canada and Europe followed sold out shows in Australia and brought The Audreys to mid 2009 when they started piecing together the first notes of their third record “Sometimes The Stars.”
The writing of the record was interspersed with a backpacking jaunt through India, a tequila- soaked trip to Los Angeles, and a determination to get back to where it all started with a focus on the song writing partnership of Taasha Coates and Tristan Goodall.
The Audreys also re-invented their approach to recording. A who’s who of Australian musicians came in to contribute to the making of “Sometimes The Stars”, including Tim Rogers, jazz pianist Paul Grabowsky, the boys from Tripod and Michael Barker of John Butler Trio fame. The duo once again worked under the deft hand of producer, engineer and friend Shane O’Mara.
