Hopkins and his vast repertoire represented the epitome of Texas country blues, no question. His unique guitar style was fashioned from the traditions he learned in the presence of Blind Lemon Jefferson and cousin, Texas Alexander. Underscoring songs from his life and of those around him. From his first recording in 1946 he hardly paused 3 decades. In that time, he created an amazing catalogue, starting with 'Katie Mae Blues', through 'Long Way From Texas', 'Sad News From Korea' and 'Ain't It A Shame' to his last major sessions for the New York Herald label, which make up the entire third disc here.
