Black Meteoric Star, the latest project by long-time DFA alumni Gavin Russom, is inspired by equalparts Euro-disco, wonky early electronic body music from America's Midwest, and a fascination with theouter reaches of global psychedelic rock. These six pieces of music together comprise a narrative of clubbing and the long journey through thenight and into the next day. On each track, Russom creates rich sonic landscapes using minimal but intense arrangements andhigh-energy repetition.
