Last year BLACKSTROBE released their first album for Playlouderecordings, "A Remix Selection", which featured 10 of their finest remixes from artists as diverse as Rammstein, Depeche Mode, Bloc Party and The Rapture. Black Strobe now return with their debut album proper, 'Burn Your Own Church'. Recorded in London during the second half of 2006 with Paul Epworth (Bloc Party/The Rapture) on production duties and Alan Moulder (Nine Inch Nails/My Bloody Valentine) mixing the record, "Burn Your Own Church" showcases the band's power of fusing the world's of dance music and rock music. Black Strobe AKA Parisian's Ivan Smagghe and Arnaud Rebotini have been in demand for many years from artists who feel their music could benefit from some twisted tweaking. Sometimes the process has been symbiotic with Black Strobe offered the opportunity to work with bands that influenced them in their formative years like Depeche Mode, Dominatrix and Nitzer Ebb. The album systematically references every genre within Black Strobe's spectrum of inspiration: from Norwegian black metal to contemporary dance music, dark and thunderous disco-punk to Big Black basslines; industrial-sounding late night mash-up of Air with Nine Inch Nails to endless layers of My Bloody Valentine guitars.
