Brand New Heavies (TBNH) re-unite with original lead singer NDea Davenport for a new studio album, their first together in a decade. The Heavies' triumphant return marks the re-emergence of one of the most innovative, influential, R&B and funk groups of the last 15-plus years. In the mid-1980s, after bonding over their love of American funk and soul music - notably James Brown and the Meters ,TBNH formed as an instrumental outfit .The band fitted perfectly into the rare groove and then acid jazz club scenes at the time, which also became associated with other notable long standing career artists such as Jamiroquai and Incognito. First single is I Don't Know Why (I Love You), a reworked version of the Stevie Wonder 1968 classic from his For Once In My Life album, a clear live favourite from the new album and a powerful dose of the Heavies' classic mix of live organic instrumentation and killer vocals! As is customary with the Heavies, it is supported by excellent remixes including KennyDope, 4Hero,DJ Spinna, and the legendary Tom Moulton (disco pioneer - Gloria Gaynor, Donner Summer). Album was recorded in New York and London, and released in the USA by the band's original US label Delicious Vinyl. Funk, jazz, and hot buttered soul abound! The original Heavies are back !!
