Since the release of his blistering seminal debut Working Nights in 2007, Mancunian wunderkind Trus'me has been doing just that. The result has been rapturous response to his eclectic dj sets, an impressive roll call of remixes (inc LCD Soundsystem, Amp Fiddler & Dabrye). Trus'me has become increasingly adept and inventive at taking on sound-system reggae, soul, and disco, and blending them with house and techno, for an entirely radical sound. The album is more accomplished and organic, showing a more song-based approach. In The Red features guest collaborations from Dam-Funk (on a WasNotWas disco epic), Detroit innovator Amp Fiddler on two tracks including a cover of Bill Withers' Can We Pretend, Paul Randolph [Jazzanova] and Pirahnahead lends his vocal skills to the title track.
