New Domino signing, French electronica guru Etienne Jaumet (one half of heralded Zombie Zombie), has been simmering on the scene for some time; now arrives his debut full-length solo album, Night Music sure to satisfy the thirst of his awe-induced, ever growing fanbase. Carl Craig, who was blown away by Etienne's demos, produced and mixed the album, whilst keeping the entire original tracks intact - only adding effects, taking a few things away here and there, in order to keep the bare essentials and accentuate the psychedelic feel of the originals. Five super length tracks (one over 20 minutes), it's all sleekly intricate, deceptively minimal, hypnotic mini sonic landscapes filled with anolog machinery, synthesisers, sequencers and drum machines across five super length tracks.
