TOSCA is the joint musical project of RICHARD DORFMEISTER and RUPERT HUBER from Vienna, Austria. Many of their albums like Opera , Suzuki and Dehli 9 are considered milestones of the downtempo genre. Releasing an album of remixes of their most recent work stays in tradition with TOSCA's modus operandi - many previous singles and remixes have been released as remix albums such as Souvenirs, The J.A.C. Remixes, Suzuki In Dub, Chocolate Elvis Dubs, Fuck Dub Remix Collection. Released last year, No Hassle is TOSCA's most beautiful musical statement so far. A luxurious tapestry of analogue and digital sounds, submerged samples and live instruments, it evolves and expands into an hour-long ambient symphony. Pony brings the more club-oriented face of TOSCA to the forefront - but it still is a true TOSCA album. The sound signature of DORFMEISTER & HUBER cannot be superseded by this elegantly sequenced collection of remixes and versions. The album includes remixes from producers and artists such as Smith & Mudds, Grant Phabao, Nicola Conte, Steve Kotey and Robin Lee, Rodney Hunter, Spirt Catcher and more. To close the album,TOSCA contracted a contemporary chamber music ensemble to record an adaptation of the track Rosa . The two TOSCA producers then took these recordings and re-edited them, resulting in a closing track by the KUK STRING QUARTET.

The album has already received acclaim from overseas, with Stool Pigeon describing it "The best LP the ambient pioneer has been involved with since the mid-eighties. Imagine Boards Of Canada's 'Music Has The Right To Children' as an actual soundtrack to a documentary". | $28.99 (AUD) |
