Towards the end of 2006, Tom, Leo and Dave, three friends with impeccablemusical pedigrees, (including Roisin Murphy, Amy Winehouse, Paul Epworth,Polar Bear and Bugz In The Attic), embarked on what was originally intended asa solo project for Dave. A beautiful album gradually emerged and, via theprocess of its creation, The Invisible was born. London Girl and the band's eponymous debut LP are ambitious and skillfullycrafted slices of sumptuous music, wide-ranging in their diverse influences anduncompromising in vision. Theirs is a world where Prince, King Sunny Ade, Sonic Youth, Queens Of TheStone Age, Shuggie Otis and Radiohead are immersed in fruitful creative dialogue.Classical, medieval church music and more digitized dance sounds all simmer beneaththe surface too. Through their combined magical musicianship and songwriting, The Invisible meldthese disparate sounds to forge something special, fresh and altogether new. Production on the album is handled by Matthew Herbert. The Invisible are thefirst group that the celebrated electronic pioneer has been inspired to work with in thisway. Herbert's influence can be heard in the balancing of electronic elements with morenatural, organic sounds, matching his studio expertise with the band's live sound.
