The GALLOWS odyssey of "unapologetic hardcore punk" continues onto 2011 release 'DEATH IS BIRTH'. This is their first release since the depature of former front man Frank Carter, who notoriously made his rather poorly played out exit from the band, via email. Fortunately this lead to the suprising but incredibly succsessful induction of Wade MacNeil, front man of Canada's best known punk and now broken up band, Alexisonfire.
So what happens when Watford's fearsome finest's newest membern is an incredibly succsessful Canadian expat who grew up on the other side of the ocean? Song for the video above 'True Colours' was the first teaser released for this LP and it is definitely NOT the Cyndi Lauper version your crazy aunt Janey loves to bust out after a few shandies. 'True Colours' is the track when you want crazy Aunty Janey to stop singing and depart your company (unless she is crazy and cool Aunt Janey). Clocking in at 37 seconds and not for the faint of heart, this track is harsh, heavy and chaotic.
According to the band, 'DEATH IS BIRTH' is only a taste of what is to come. GALLOWS are a band who are moving forward at breakneck speed, play their shows viciously hard and happen to be killing it every step of the way.
