Formed in 1994, within a short amount of time, RAUNCHY's status elevated to "Denmark's best-kept metal secret" getting press quotes such as "RAUNCHY is the beginning of a new area of modern heavy metal", "One of the best Danish debuts EVER" and "Forget about the latest hype-neo-metal band from L.A. .bow down to RAUNCHY!" Between 1995 and 1998, RAUNCHY recorded two demo CD's, which were later used on the compilation "Extremity Rising Vol. I & III" which led to their first initial signing to Mighty Music's sublabel Drug(s) for their first release "Velvet Noise." RAUNCHY quickly got picked up by the well established metal label Nuclear Blast in 2002. "Velvet Noise" got re-issued for all of Europe and was followed by their second full length records "Confusion Bay" in 2004.
