J MASCIS of DINOSAUR JR. and his long time friend DAVE SWEETAPPLE were interested in forming a hard rock band. They found willing and able conspirators in KYLE THOMAS and ASA IRONS, members of avant-folk outfit FEATHERS. The result is WITCH a mighty sonic tumult that harkens back to classic heavy metal sound of early 70's outfits while still sounding modern in their assault. After their incredibly well received self titled debut in 2006, Witch have returned with their sophomore album 'Paralyzed', an album that burns with hostility & takes no prisoners. The bands new songs highlight the rhythm section of Dave Sweetapple (Bass) and J Mascis (Drums) who return to their punk roots and attack with a more aggressive tempo. This foundation allows Kyle Thomas (Guitar/Vocals) to construct wailing vertical melodies of guitar and sinister vocals.
