Mindsnare’s ferocious blend of unrelenting thrash mixed with old-school influences results in a savage, unique and uncompromising sound that is welcome, refreshing and undeniable. Not only have Mindsnare been one of the most influential bands of the past decade there’s no doubt that their best days and most crushing music is ahead of them.
Formed under the name Mad Circle in 1993, their name was then changed in 1995 to the now current Mindsnare. They went on to release their debut album “Under Fire” on Deported Records and the following year recorded 4 songs for a split CD with Toe to Toe. 1997 saw the release of “Credulity” on newly formed label Trial and Error and also the release of an untitled 6 track CD that has now been called the “White EP”.
2000 sees the band start the new millennium off with yet another line up change, the last one to date, with another drummer quitting, the band enlists Gordy from Frenzal Rhomb to take up the position. “Hanged Choked Wrists Slit” is the first full length release in four years, released in 2001. A re-release of “Credulity” is issued in 2003 on Trial and Error under the title “The Bootleg”, the re-release contains the additional “White EP” and other compilation tracks that had been long out of print. Not ones to keep their fans hanging Mindsnare release “The Death” the following year. Not only is it the most well received album thus far but also the first that the band have been happy with sonically.
In 2006 Mindsnare toured the country twice with Ringworm and then a month later with Kreator and released a 7” on Shortfuse Records. Recorded at Back Beach Studios again with producer DW Norton, who has worked with the band on their recent 7”, The Death and Hanged Choked Wrists Slit albums, “Disturb The Hive” is the bands most anticipated release to date. With several tours already booked including appearances at Come Together, Hardcore 2007 and a tour with Unearth, 2007 is shaping up to be the most productive year for the never tiring Mindsnare.
