American jazz musician, trumpeter, bandleader, and composer Miles Davies was one of the most renowned figures in the jazz world. Widely considered one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century, Miles Davis was, with his musical groups, at the forefront of several major developments in jazz music, including bebop, cool jazz, hard bop, modal jazz, and jazz fusion.Amandla was originally released in 1989 and was the third collaboration between Miles Davis and producer/bassist Marcus Miller, after Tutu (1986) and Music From Siesta (1987), and their final album together. The album mixes elements of the genres go-go, zouk, funk and swing jazz, combining electronic instruments with live musicians. The composition "Mr. Pastorius", featuring drummer Al Foster, is a tribute to late jazz bassist Jaco Pastorius.
