The long unavailable complete Birdland set pairing Bird with Fats Navarro andBud Powell. Bird, Fats and Bud are splendid on all these long and relaxedperformances. Navarro would die shortly after these recordings were made onJuly 7, 1950 due to a combination of tuberculosis and heroin addiction. He was only 26. As a bonus, we have added another complete set tapedat Birdland a few months earlier, as well as the only existing tune from aradio broadcast presenting Bird and Bud playing Dance of the Infidels.
